The organ was built in 1952 to replace an earlier instrument and consists of 2 manuals and 4 ranks of pipes all fully enclosed in the chamber that was occupied by the previous instrument and fronted by a dummy pipe facade.

The organ was overhauled in 1995 by Michael Farley and has the following original specification:
