The organ here was first built in 1898 by Robert Hope-Jones and rebuilt in 1919 by Scovell and Co of Edinburgh. In 1950 the organ was given a major rebuild by Compton which saw the addition of a new console in the south chancel gallery. The organ is another example of the work Compton did at rebuilding other instruments.
