The organ was first built by James Ivimey of Southampton in 1909 and was rebuilt around 1950 by Compton which included the installation of electric action and detached stopkey console. Much of the original 1909 pipework was kept. In 1989 the organ was rebuilt by Griffiths & Cooper.
