The organ here has a fascinating story. The bulk of it was originally built in 1952 by the John Compton Organ Company Ltd for St Mark's Church in Worsley, Manchester where an unenclosed pedal rank was added in 1975 by George Sixsmith. It was moved here and installed in 2005. The Trumpet rank was kept for the new instrument at Worsley so a replacement was obtained from Midsomer Norton Methodist Church. A 2 rank Compton model Miniatura organ was also obtained and this forms a new unenclosed division. In addition, a Compton polyphonic bass has also been installed and also a rank of Heskel bass pipes. Finally, a Voix Celeste has been added which is used in conjunction with the Salicional rank. The front casework for the instrument came from a Methodist Church in Bath, Somerset.
