Situations have occurred when new church buildings have been built and the organs from the original buildings transferred into the new buildings.

The organ was first built in 1948 for the previous church building and dedicated by the Most Rev. J Masterson in memory of those who lost their lives in the two World Wars.  In 1972 the present church building was opened as a result of the local area being redeveloped at the time and the organ was transferred to the new building where otherwise it remains in original condition.
