A Compton electrone model 357 was featured in some episodes of the famous British television soap 'Coronation Street' filmed at the Granada Television Studios in Manchester.
Coronation Street featured a Mission Hall called 'Glad Tidings' and the organ was played by Ena Sharples and also a young boy called Tony Parsons.
In real life Ena Sharples was played by Violet Carson who had been a professional musician before finding fame in Coronation Street in 1960. Tony was played by David Hill who studied at Chethams School of Music in Manchester. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Organists at seventeen and has since become one of the country's most celebrated choral and orchestral conductor and organist. In 2019, he was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to music.
