The organ was built in 1947 for £4,700 by the John Compton Organ Company Ltd replacing a 3 manual Gray and Davidson instrument although some pipework has been used in the Compton organ. The organ is totally enclosed in 2 chambers and built on the extension principal consisting of 12 ranks of pipes. A new case front was also provided.
